The original Aster alpinus is a circumpolar mountain species, growing on rocky, mostly limestone substrates. Cultivar 'Blue' is 15 to 30 cm tall, the flower heads are fully double, blue, V-VI.
Use in perennial low flower beds and rock gardens in sunny locations.
Habitat circles GR1-2 - edge of deciduous forest with dry to fresh soil, FR1-2 - open areas with dry to fresh soil.
