Blue Columbine
A species native to subalpine meadows and forest clearings of North America. It is the state flower of Colorado in the USA. The botanical species blooms with sky-blue flowers at the turn of May and June and reaches a height of 40-70cm. It is a significant species that contributed to the development of many garden cultivars. Plants are completely undemanding regarding site conditions. They are suited to almost any non-completely drying garden soil and a location in full sun or partial shade. Plants reproduce almost exclusively by seeds.
